On February 12, 2011, PTPN National President Michael Weinper, PT, DPT, M.P.H., received the Charles Harker Policy Maker Award from the APTA Health Policy and Administration Section at the Combined Sections Meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana. The award recognizes APTA members whose actions have “significantly impacted health policy, who have demonstrated leadership in health policy making at the state or national levels and initiated a policy shift of broad magnitude for the profession.”
PTPN continues to battle Medicare therapy caps in Washington, D.C.
Recently, we joined over 25 other organizations that published ads (PDF) in Politico and Roll Call, directed at Senate and Congressional leaders, urging them to extend the Medicare therapy cap exceptions process. These organizations include the APTA, AOTA, ASHA, PPS, Easter Seals, Autism Society, National MS Society, and United Cerebral Palsy. In addition, FOTO (Focus on Therapeutic Outcomes) also signed the ad; PTPN and FOTO are the only private companies listed as signatories to the ad.
