Does PTPN membership generate value for independent PT practitioners? Absolutely, said members in a recent survey. Here are the facts and figures of the return-on-investment of PTPN membership.
Member Revenues
The greatest value that members report receiving from PTPN is access to more patients and more revenue through PTPN’s contracts with payers.
- From the first year members make more, on average, in additional revenue than the cost of their dues.
- The first year, revenues from these new sources average 2-3 times the cost of dues.
- The second year, revenues average 8-10 times the annual dues.
- By the third year, the average member office is receiving revenues from PTPN contracts that are 10-30 times (or more) the cost of
annual
dues.
(Please note that PTPN membership dues vary nationwide.)
Member also gain value through our new consumer brand, Physiquality:
- Members have access to a range of cash-pay programs ready to be integrated into their practices. These programs have features available exclusively to PTPN members, including custom content and better pricing.
- PTPN will be marketing the services offered under this new name in many ways, driving cash-paying clients to member practices — at no additional cost. It’s all part of the value we deliver to dues-paying members of our network.

In addition to providing insurance contracts, PTPN keeps us informed of issues that affect physical therapists immediately, whether it is in the insurance arena, a Medicare issue or a legislative issue. The feedback from the Quality Assurance Committee has helped with our documentation of all charts, including Medicare. PTPN has also sponsored several educational courses for their members that are needed by the private practitioner. And we even get a discount on supplies from many vendors, just for being a member of PTPN.

Member Savings
PTPN members save money through PTPN’s handling of the contracting and credentialing functions and through discounts on services.
- By having PTPN handle the contracting and credentialing function instead of doing it themselves, members save $12,250 to
$26,250 a year, which is the equivalent of 2–7 times their annual dues.
Discounts on services
- Members save on average $900 per year by purchasing from vendors who offer discounted rates to PTPN members.
- Informational services on compliance, regulatory, and billing issues that PTPN provides save members money. For example, PTPN invested a lot of time and money in researching and generating HIPAA information and education for members. PTPN also offers members a HIPAA manual through a preferred vendor for $200 less than list price.
